Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 30 July 2026

Please read section 8 carefully. Snimbl helps you meet strangers. We do not run background checks or verify anyone's identity, and we are not present when you meet. Meeting people you have met online carries real risk, and you accept that risk yourself.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Egurus Pty Ltd. By creating an account you accept them.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Snimbl mobile application and the snimbl.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Egurus Pty Ltd ("Snimbl", "we", "us"), a company registered in Australia and based in Victoria.

Our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines form part of these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

2. What Snimbl is — and is not

Snimbl is a platform for making platonic friendships between adults. It is not a dating app, a hook-up app, a professional networking tool, or a marketplace. Using it to pursue romantic or sexual connections, to sell things, or to recruit is a breach of these Terms.

We introduce people based on the answers you and others give to our values questionnaire and on approximate proximity. These are suggestions, not endorsements. A high compatibility score says two people answered questions similarly. It says nothing about whether a person is safe, honest, or who they claim to be.

3. Your account

4. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour

Zero tolerance. Snimbl has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive members. Content or behaviour that breaches this section may be removed without notice, and the responsible account may be suspended or permanently terminated without warning and without refund.

You must not post, send, upload or share any content, or engage in any behaviour, that:

You must also not:

4.1 Reporting and moderation

Every member can report any other member from that person's profile or from within a conversation, and can block any member instantly. Blocking is immediate and mutual: a blocked person cannot see your profile or contact you. You can manage blocked members under Settings → Blocked users.

We aim to review every report within 24 hours. Depending on severity, we may remove content, issue a warning, suspend the account, or permanently ban the member and prevent them from re-registering. We may act on our own initiative without a report. Photographs uploaded to Snimbl are also automatically screened for explicit content before they are published.

Reports of urgent safety concerns should go to safety@snimbl.com. If someone is in immediate danger, call 000.

If your account is actioned and you believe we got it wrong, you may appeal to safety@snimbl.com within 14 days.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a report, or if you are experiencing serious online abuse, you can also report to the eSafety Commissioner at esafety.gov.au. eSafety administers Australia's adult cyber-abuse and image-based-abuse schemes and can require the removal of material in some circumstances.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post. To operate the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, to resize an image) and display your content — solely for the purpose of providing, securing and improving Snimbl. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period, and except where we must retain material for safety, legal or enforcement reasons.

You confirm you have the right to post everything you post. We may remove any content at any time if we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or the law.

We do not claim ownership of your content, and we will not use your photographs or profile in advertising without asking you first.

6. Other members' conduct and content

Snimbl is a platform. The profiles, messages and photographs on it are created by members, not by us. We do not endorse, vouch for, or take responsibility for any member or anything they say or do, whether on the Service or in person.

We use automated screening and human review, but we cannot and do not review every profile, message or photograph before it appears. You may encounter content you find offensive or inaccurate. Please report it.

7. Fees

Snimbl is currently free to use. There are no subscriptions, and we do not collect payment details.

We may introduce paid features in future. If we do, we will tell you clearly what is paid before you are asked to pay anything, and we will never charge you for something you have not expressly agreed to buy. Any purchase made through the Apple App Store or Google Play will also be subject to that store's payment, refund and cancellation terms. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Meeting people in person — risk, and your assumption of it

Read this before you meet anyone.

We do not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification, or any other screening of members. Our photo verification feature confirms only that a person submitted a selfie — it does not confirm who they are, and it is not a safety guarantee.

Anyone can create a profile and say anything on it. People sometimes misrepresent who they are, and a person you meet through Snimbl may behave in ways that are dishonest, offensive, or dangerous.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, online and offline. You use Snimbl, and choose to meet anyone from it, entirely at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you assume all risk arising from your contact with other members, and you release Snimbl from all claims arising out of that contact.

Precautions we strongly recommend, every time:

If something happens, report it to us at safety@snimbl.com and to police. In an emergency, call 000.

9. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded.

Where we are permitted to limit our liability for a breach of a non-excludable guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Subject always to section 9:

Some of these limitations may not apply to you if the law where you live does not allow them.

11. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Egurus Pty Ltd, its directors, officers and employees from any claim brought by a third party, and any loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from such a claim, where it arises out of or in connection with: (a) your breach of these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or any law; (b) content you post; (c) your conduct towards another member, including at any meeting in person; or (d) your negligent or wilful misconduct. This indemnity does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach of these Terms, our negligence, or our wilful misconduct.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Snimbl and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or our Community Guidelines, if your account presents a risk to other members or to us, or if we are required to by law. For serious breaches — particularly those involving safety, harassment, or content involving minors — termination will be immediate and permanent.

Where an account is terminated for a serious breach, we retain a limited record (email address and a device identifier) to prevent re-registration, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We may also discontinue the Service, or any feature of it, at any time. Where practicable we will give you reasonable notice.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and your continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you should delete your account. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.

14. App store terms

If you downloaded Snimbl from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you acknowledge that:
